The port initiates the export of granite of Porriño to Turkey for the construction

13/01/2014

The fuselage Nadym, consigned by Pérez Torres Maritime, split yesterday of the dock Reboredo to the port of Antalya, in the southwest of Turkey, after loading during several days almost 6.000 tonnes of granite in block. The stone proceeds of the quarries Blockgandara in Porriño, in which it uses  a modern system of extraction of the granite based in the cut of diamond thread. This allows to realise courts of better quality, optimise the use of the stone and avoid the development of professional illnesses like the silicosis. The granite shipped belongs to the pink Porriño variety, although Blockgandara works also other varieties.

The ship has 140 metres of length and 16,60 metres of sleeve. For the ship of the 320 blocks of granite in the cellars employed  the own means of the polyvalent terminal of containers, Termarín. It is foreseen to realise ship similar from the Marín Port every three months since Turkey is an emergent market with a strong demand of products of quality for the construction.
