Successful conference on access to international markets for the companies of stone in Porriño

On 12 February the Technological Centre of the Granite received a conference on formulas of access to international markets for the companies of the industry of the natural stone, to which assisted a wide number of signatures of the sector in Galicia.


The event, that explained like partners with the Association Cluster of the Granite and with signs it leader in professional services Ernst & Young, was organised by Focus Stone in collaboration with Ifema and the International Living room of the Construction and Efficient Rehabilitation (SICRE).


After the presentation by part of the editor of the newspaper Focus Stone, Marisa Carrio, the manager of the Cluster of the Granite, Jose Ángel Lorenzo, realised a review of the sectorial situation, the challenges and the opportunities of the industry of the natural stone in the actuality.


The premium markets of the Galician granite


Lorenzo stood out the concentration of the Galician exports in countries like Turkey, France, Portugal and Morocco and aimed like markets premium for the industry, in accordance with indicators like the per capita income or the residential work: United States, Saudi Arabia or Russia. Also it realised an analysis of competition in where they remained reflected the markets in which Italy has a greater penetration and signalled also the countries in which the Spanish ceramics has an important presence.


Critical factors in the internationalisation


 Another of the speakers in the Day, Carmen Were, senior manager of the signature  And&And, specialised in loaning international advice to the companies, shared with the assistants the analysis on the critical factors in the processes of internationalisation and the formulas of access to the foreign markets. In his intervention did allusion to the need to analyse internal and external factors of each country, as well as the different possibilities of agreements that better adapt  to the needs of the companies.


An example of internationalisation


Guillermo Pérez-Aboy, director of the Division of World-wide Distribution of Levantina, with one dilates path in export, exposed the presence that has had the company in the last years in this matter and the "obligation to export" by part of the companies of stone. Also sketched any of the formulas of business by means of which Levantina has presence in diverse countries.


By his part, Santiago Díez, commercial director of the fair Stone, presented the novelties of the contest for this edition that will take place in Madrid in the frame of the International Week of the Construction and Efficient Rehabilitation of the 7 to 10 May. It stood out the extension of the geographic field and of the profile of the visitors, what will benefit to the expositores. Like example of the new bet by the internationalisation, Ifema in this occasion puts to disposal of the companies the possibility to invite to international customers.


Theconference finalised with a table of debate that allowed the exchange of experiences and information between the participants.


This conference frames  inside the cycle of meetings designated "Professional spaces Stone 2014" in whose frame also will develop  days the next days 26 of of February in Novelda (Alicante), on 12 March in Valladolid and on 26 March in Macael (Almería).
